Deanna — We Only Had Time for One
Deanna was stationed here — I think with the Navy.
We had talked about shooting a few times, but somehow our schedules never lined up. Until one day, they did.
It wasn’t a long session. No big production. Just the two of us, a camera, and whatever the light gave us that afternoon. She was easy to work with — confident, relaxed, sharp. And then she was gone. Back to duty, off island, and just like that, the window closed.
Sometimes, that’s all you get.
No reshoots. No second setups. Just one chance to get it right.
I shot this on my Nikon F5, on film. Didn’t overthink anything.
Just tried to stay present, frame by frame.

Shot near the edge of the reef — quiet light, soft wind, one borrowed afternoon. She moved like she already knew this would be the only time.
