Some people step in front of a camera and you have to coax it out of them. Direct them, reassure them, guide every movement. And then there's Nicky.
She had this innocence about her, but the moment we started shooting, something else took over. She didn't need to try. She didn't need direction. The camera loved her and she loved being in front of it, and all I had to do was keep shooting.
This was January 2021, out on the rocks in Guam. A bikini, a white shirt, and the ocean doing whatever it wanted around us. Some of my favorite images from that year.
Shot on Nikon Z6.
I've shot a lot of bikini work over the years — more than I've ever posted. This summer I'm going to start sharing more of it here. Consider this the first of many.
