Elle came through a casting call — quiet, understated, the kind of person who lets the work speak. This was our only session together and I wish there had been more.
We shot on the beach and somewhere between the sea spray and the overcast sky it started to sprinkle. I wasn't sure at first if it was the ocean or the rain — a few frames in I realized it was both. Fortunately the X-T5 and the lens I was using are weather sealed so I kept shooting. Glad I did. The rain added something. You can see it in a few of the frames — that soft texture in the air, the rocks wet behind her, the sand sticking to her skin.
Elle was easy to work with. Quiet but present. The camera found her quickly.
